It’s a job seeker’s market, and your top talent is always looking. In fact, Indeed research shows that 65% of new hires are already back on their site looking for new jobs 91 days after being hired. These seven employers are attracting and retaining new talent using some pretty nifty perks along the lines of Facebook and can be great examples for benefit managers to get some fresh ideas.

Nestlé Purina Pet Care

The pet-food company proves to be nothing but a pet-lovers paradise. The employer actively encourages all full- and part-time employees to bring their pets to work with them daily. Nestle headquarters even has its own on-site dog park known as the Barkyard. Nestlé Purina also gives $200 to any associate who adopts or becomes a pet owner to assist with initial costs.

MINDBODY

The cloud-based wellness vendor takes well-being to heart. There are three full-time massage therapists on site and more than five wellness classes offered each week. The company also treats its employees to healthy meals from in-house caterers and $65 in wellness vouchers each month.

The freight brokerage firm prides itself on its “Signature TQL” events that include derby patio parties, hot dog eating contests, tug of war competitions, half court shootouts and dozens of other distractions. TQL’s teamwork is so strong that in 2015 the company broke the Guinness World Record for “most people performing simultaneously” by having 734 employees do pushups together. The company has also been named a 2016 military-friendly employer for it longstanding support of veterans.

The gaming developer, known for its popular PC title League of Legends, allows employees to game the night away in their on-site PC Bang, a Korean-inspired space dedicated to gaming. Additionally, Riot Games gives each employee $300 a year to buy and play video games of their choice.

The business and tech consulting firm takes work-life balance serious. Slalom doesn’t believe consulting has to be a grueling up-or-out career path. The company’s “no unwanted travel” policy allows employees to stay local and exercise a work-life balance not often found at other consulting firms.

The communication-software developer is such a fan of continued education that it provides employees with $5,000 in tuition reimbursement for classes. Through the Free Books Program, employees can request a business book at any time — no library card or approval required. And to top it off, the company’s “Always Be Learning” program offers on-site guest speakers, peer-taught classes, mentoring programs, leadership training and more.

The real-estate database company wants to deliver on office perks. Favorite perks for employees include free snacks and beverages, Fitbits and treadmill desks, and a location with dramatic views of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and the downtown Seattle skyline.
