Catherine Murchie is senior vice president of Processing and Enterprise Security and Network Solutions for North America. In this role, she has responsibility for enabling the market strategies for network, processing and safety & security solutions, including EMV or chip cards, for the U.S. and Canada.Prior to her current position, Ms. Murchie was a senior vice president in Investor Relations for two years, where she was responsible for managing relationships with the financial investment community. Before taking on that role, she led the global product management and commercialization of MasterCard’s contactless solutions, helping to lay the groundwork for today, when MasterCard contactless payments are accepted in 70+ countries around the world and support mobile NFC payments.Ms. Murchie has been involved with financial technology throughout her career at MasterCard with a focus on strategy, standardization and market commercialization. She was a founding board member of The Mobile Payment Forum, a cross-industry consortium focused on the development of industry standards for mobile payments. In addition, she was a member of the EMVCo contactless working group supporting interoperability and acceptance of secure payments for new channels.
