David Owen

Online, Mobile, Fraud and Claims Executive

David Owen is Bank of America's Online, Mobile, Fraud and Claims Executive. He manages operations for online and mobile platforms and online sales and service adoption. Owen leads design, development and delivery of the digital user experience and capabilities. Online Banking customers conduct more than one billion transactions per year through the website and Bank of America leads the industry in the Online and Mobile Banking Distribution. Owen also leads the Claims and Fraud Centers of Excellence responsible for managing overall claims and dispute processes, risk and compliance for credit cards, ATM/Debit, payments, ACH and check fraud. Owen manages and balances fraud prevention, detection & recovery control.Previously Owen served as the Payments and Products executive for Bank of America. He developed and managed products and solutions that provided customers with payment choices. This included checking, debit, prepaid, ACH, wires and eProduct solutions. Owen also managed the enterprise relationships with the card payment networks.Owen has also served as the Consumer and Small Business Checking and Debit executive where he was responsible for the bank's checking, debit and online products. Prior to running these businesses, Owen briefly served as the Mass Affluent Sales & Service executive. During this time Owen worked with the Global Wealth and Investment Management team on the segmentation and target state business model for Mass Affluent customers, the migration of elements of the Premier Banking & Investments business into the Consumer Bank and rationalized the Merrill Lynch and Bank of America phone-based planning capabilities.Previously, Owen served as the LaSalle Transition executive, responsible for the integration of LaSalle Bank into Bank of America. Prior to that, Owen served as the National Channel Integration executive responsible for the company's retail distribution channels (banking center and ATM), merchandising, and distribution/channel strategy. He also was the Deposits and Debit Strategy and Marketing executive, responsible for marketing, advertising and communications efforts across consumer deposits and debit. During that time, his team launched a number of new products, including SafeSend(r) and Keep the Change(r).Owen joined Bank of America in 2003 in Business Development, where he led a team responsible for driving key strategy and growth projects for the Consumer Bank.Before coming to Bank of America, Owen was a Principal in Booz Allen Hamilton's Financial Services practice in New York. During his seven years at Booz Allen he worked on a range of strategy, marketing and cost re-engineering projects for major credit card companies, cash management businesses and global corporate and investment banks. He worked on a number of international assignments in London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney.Owen received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a master's in business administration from George Mason University. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ordnance Officer's Basic Course and the U.S. Army Airborne School.
