Senior Vice President, Digital Executive, Digital Strategy, Products, Innovation, Partnerships, and Platforms

Edward J. Achtner (EJ) joined Bank of America in 2002.� In April 2016, he became the Digital Banking Executive.� He oversees all digital activities including strategy, products, innovation, partnerships and platforms.� Prior to that, he was Bank of America’s Financial Center Regional Sales Executive for San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the North Bay as well the national chair of the company’s Regional Sales & Operations Council.� He was responsible for comprehensive revenue generation, partnerships, client experience, and risk mitigation and digital platform integration (field-test, feedback, and adoption) in the Bank’s Financial Centers and his team is closely integrated with the company’s Digital Banking and Technology and Operations teams, as well as the Stanford Design School (d.school), to design and deploy the company’s digital strategies.EJ is also very engaged in Bank of America’s community engagement.� Through his representation of the Consumer Bank on Bank of America’s Market President teams located in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the North Bay he supports the company’s local philanthropic and volunteer efforts.� Additionally, he works with his peers to foster coordinated business integration activities across all lines of business in order to deliver one company to our customers, leading the entire nation in 2015.� He also served on other Executive Leadership positions such as the East Bay Economic Development Alliance and the California Banking Association’s Residential Lending Committee, with past participation on the Executive Board of the Maryland Academy of Sciences.EJ received his Juris Doctorate (JD) and graduated from the Washington College of Law (American University) and substantially completed his course work for a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at the Kogod School of Business (American University) due to working on two startup ventures.� For his undergraduate degree, he received a degree in International Business and Russian Area Studies at Union College.He resides in the North Bay with his wife Ilse and their four children.� He has also participated on Bank of America’s2014/2015 AIDS/Lifecycle team, riding from San Francisco to Los Angeles, and leading all corporate teams having raised over $300,000 for HIV/AIDS research.
