James Binette

James (“Jim”) Binette is a Managing Director in the Public Finance Eastern Region at Assured Guaranty, where he is a municipal underwriter with specific focus on the southern region. Jim joined Assured Guaranty in June of 2007. Prior to joining Assured Guaranty, Jim spent four years in MBIA’s Asset Management division.Jim also spent seven years at Bayerische Landesbank (“BayernLB”) underwriting liquidity facilities and letters of credit for municipal issuers or various sectors. Jim started his career as a research analyst at Moody’s Investors Service in 1994, with his final role there as a municipal analyst in the Great Lakes region. Jim earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Fordham University, and gained his undergraduate degree in Management with a concentration in Finance from Manhattanville College. Jim is also a member of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
