John F. Vogel

Deputy Regional Director, Risk Management - New York Region

John joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 1990 as an Assistant Bank Examiner in the Concord, New Hampshire Field Office.  Throughout the 1990’s, John served as a Bank Examiner and then Supervisory Examiner in offices throughout New EnglandFrom 2004 through 2006, John served as Special Assistant to FDIC Board Member Thomas J. Curry in Washington, DC.  In that capacity, John advised Mr. Curry on internal FDIC matters and on policy issues impacting the banking industry.  In 2006, John returned to New England to serve as the Field Supervisor for the Southeastern Massachusetts Territory.  In August 2009, John became an Assistant Regional Director in New York.  In August 2010, he became the Deputy Regional Director for Risk Management for the FDIC’s New York Region.  In his current capacity, John oversees the risk management supervision program and the enforcement program for all non-member banks in the Mid-Atlantic States.
