Mr. Stern joined the Office of Investments at Rockefeller University in early 2008. In his role as Director of Private Investments he oversees a portfolio of Venture Capital, Buyout and Growth Capital and Real Assets investments. In this position Mr. Stern is responsible for manager sourcing, selection and monitoring. Previously he worked at Standard & Poors as a director in the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Group, which was part of the Public Finance Department. In that role Mr. Stern worked closely with a large number of universities and foundations across the United States. Over the course of his 18-year career he also worked as an investment banker, focusing on higher education institutions. Mr Stern received an M.P.A. in public finance from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, an M.S. in non-profit management from New York University and a B.A. in history and sociology from Binghamton University.
