Mary N. Simpkins is Senior Special Counsel in the Office of Municipal Securities at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.� She joined the Commission staff in 1997 after practicing law for over 15 years in the areas of municipal finance and taxation with law firms in Washington, D.C., New York and Florida.� Ms. Simpkins graduated from VanderbiltUniversity, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and from the University of Virginia School of Law.� She also received an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.��
