Mary Peloquin Dodd

Managing Director, Senior Analytical Leader

Mary Peloquin-Dodd is a managing director in Standard & Poor’s Corporate and Government Ratings.  She is the senior analytical leader for U.S. higher education and not-for-profit corporation ratings.   Since joining Standard and Poor’s in 1987, Mary has worked in public finance in a variety of sectors.  Since 1990 she has worked extensively in the United States higher education sector and on other not-for-profits such as hospitals and health systems, cultural institutions, foundations, membership organizations and research institutions.  From 1987-1990, she worked in Standard & Poor’s short-term/structured finance group and on state and local government obligations and structured finance transactions.  Currently her responsibilities include ratings for public and private colleges in the U.S., independent schools, and domestic non-profit corporations.  Standard and Poor’s rates the uninsured debt of several hundred U.S. colleges and universities and over one hundred other not-for-profit corporations. Mary frequently chairs higher education/healthcare/and not-for-profit rating committees at Standard & Poor’s.  She is a frequent author in the field of higher education finance and regularly speaks at national and regional higher education conferences.   Mary holds both a Bachelors Degree in Geology and a Masters Degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has completed additional graduate course work in public finance at New York University.  She is the corporation’s primary representative to the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and is a member of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
