As many schools postpone reopening full-time this fall, working parents are facing the stark reality that child care will continue to be an uncertainty for the long term. Coordinating in-home schooling and child care while also trying to work is proving to be unsustainable. According to a recent survey conducted by UrbanSitter, the stress of it all is getting to working parents with 1 in 5 more likely to quit their jobs right now versus pre-COVID.
Juggling work and home responsibilities is the top stressor for working parents with 72% stating they have no child care currently during COVID, according to the survey. To prevent the loss of valuable workers, employers must quickly seek out child care solutions as part of their return to work strategy.
