Joining CAPTRUST in January 2012, Karen is responsible for managing institutional corporate and non-profit client relationships by providing advice to plan sponsors, investment committees, and boards as they carry out their obligations. She is a sought-after speaker and called upon as an industry expert for her knowledge in navigating the complexities of improving retirement plans and managing institutional asset pools.

During her career, Karen has worked in a variety of leadership positions within Fidelity Investments, American Funds, NFP Retirement, Voya, and Morgan Stanley. With 30 years of experience in the investment services industry, Mrs. Casillas offers clients valuable perspective and actionable recommendations on fiduciary governance, plan design, benefit administration, committee best practices, investment menu portfolio construction, ongoing monitoring, and due diligence. She is keenly focused on helping clients develop and implement innovative solutions and creative, engaging communication strategies that resonate within unique organizational cultures to promote successful participant and portfolio outcomes.

Karen received her Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of California, Davis. She is a Co-Chair of the Programming Committee for the Western Pension & Benefit Council - San Francisco Chapter and Past-President for the Los Angeles Chapter. Karen is a Sustainer for the National Charity League Vista Robles Chapter and active member of the Assistance League of Ventura County Las Patronas Auxiliary.
