Lynette Yates
Lynette R. Yates is the Director of Human Resources for Half Price Books in Dallas, TX. Her diverse background includes Accounting, Payroll, Employee Benefits, Compensation, and Employee Relations. She is the past Benefits Manager for Half Price Books. In that role she and her team were responsible for the benefits administration process and for the design, delivery and compliance of the Health and Welfare Plans, Retirement Plan, Family and Medical Leave Act administration, leave of absence policies, State/City/County Paid Sick Leave, and Workers’ Compensation administration along with managing external vendor relationships and internal partnerships in order to deliver these programs nationwide. Throughout her career she has worked in union and non-union organizations, as well as a variety of industries including manufacturing, finance, healthcare technology, aviation, and now retail.

Lynette holds the SPHR, CEBS, and SHRM-SCP designations and has extended her passion for volunteerism from community service activities (serving those in need) to her profession by being actively involved with the DFW Chapter ISCEBS as the President for 2019 (and Past President for 2017). This allows Lynette to contribute from a strategic perspective in the direction and leadership of the local chapter. Her desire for remaining relevant and ahead of the ever-changing landscape of Employee Benefits is also fulfilled by serving in this leadership capacity.

In Lynette’s current role with Half Price Books, she has an opportunity to align her passion for reading with her profession. She also enjoys world-travel and spending quality time with her family and friends.
