Sage acquires HR software company Fairsail

Sage has acquired Fairsail, a U.K.-based tech company that makes a cloud-based human capital management and people management system for midsized businesses. The buy is part of Sage’s growth strategy for Sage People, the company’s HCM platform launched last year that serves accountants, among others, who provide payroll services. Currently a minority shareholder, Sage will take full ownership of Fairsail when the deal closes.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fairsail is targeted at midsized organizations and is used by companies headquartered in more than 20 countries. The software has already been deployed within Sage, with Sage People adding payroll to Fairsail’s capabilities.

The acquisition will also expand Sage’s existing partnership with Salesforce, as Fairsail is one of the HCM and people management solutions feature on the cloud computing company’s app marketplace.

“Building on our successful partnership with Fairsail, this acquisition will accelerate our people offering, ensuring our customers can manage people, their most precious asset, with visibility of the rest of their business,” stated Sage CEO Stephen Kelly. “This integrates everything from talent acquisition to people analytics in one online system, helping businesses in recruiting, engaging and retaining top talent.”
