In an informal survey conducted by EBA last summer, independent advisers also said they valued their status for other factors, too, including freedom, having an array of product solutions and ability to set their own client-service expectations.

Working in a team environment is a separate plus for advisers, with 57% of the most profitable respondents and 60% of the most productive saying that they operate this way.

3. Large agency size

Having more than three people at your agency will help your advisory business, according to MDRT respondents. Sixty percent of the most profitable advisers and 82% of the most productive advisers were supported by staff.
