Beaudoin named COO of Mercer Services

In a wave of promotions inside Mercer, Rene Beaudoin succeeds Ken Haderer as COO and leader of Mercer Services. Beaudoin's former title was Mercer Services Global Health Delivery Leader. He rejoined the healthcare consultancy in 2016 after serving as chief technology officer and executive vice president for the U.S. region of Morneau Shepell, an HR technology firm.

Blair brings tech expertise to OneDigital

OneDigital Health and Benefits has appointed Greg Blair to the role of chief information officer. His remit is "to continue the growth and progress of the company's information technology team," according to the firm. Blair previously worked in the technology side of Accenture, Arby's, Ernst & Young and Microsoft.

Mercer chief information officer Gail Evens has been appointed to its executive leadership team. Evans joined the healthcare consultancy in 2016. Before joining the firm, she served in a series of senior level technology, customer engagement and digital transformation roles inside Microsoft, HP and Bank of America.

Friedman rejoins Mercer as global health leader

Mercer has appointed Dr. Lorna Friedman to the role of Global Health Leader for its Multinational Client Group. Based in New York, Friedman will work to develop health consulting products and sales for Mercer's multinational clients. She will report to Pat Milligan, Mercer's global leader of its multinational client group. She previously worked for Mercer from 2010 to 2015.

Greenbaum appointed chief actuary by Segal Group

Segal Group has named Eli Greenbaum as the firm's chief actuary. On May 1st, he succeeded Tom Levy, who stepped down from the role after 30 years to become Chief Actuary Emeritus. Greenblum has more than three decades of managerial and actuarial consulting experience. He's a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. For the American Academy of Actuaries, he recently completed a term as vice president and chair of the Pension Practice Council. He is also former chair of the American Academy of Actuaries' Multiemployer Plans Subcommittee.

Mercer names Haderer president of North America region

Ken Haderer, formerly chief operating officer and leader of the Mercer Services business, has been appointed to president for the North America region of Mercer. He will assume the role following the retirement of Simon O'Regan who will serve as a senior adviser. Haderer joined Mercer in 2013 from Aon.

Jacobsen named new executive vice president for Boston Mutual

Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company has appointed Jim Jacobsen as its new executive vice president of distribution. Jacobsen will oversee the company's two sales channels, Workplace Solutions and General Agencies. He will also lead Boston Mutual's sales and marketing strategies, channel management, producer development, and sales administration. He recently served as regional vice president for NTA Life and before that he served as vice president, worksite sales and distribution at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Mathew named pharmacy practice director for EPIC

Insurer broker and employee benefits consultant EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants announced that Reba Mathew Pharm.D., R.Ph has been named pharmacy practice director for the firm's Employee Benefits Consulting Practice. Mathew will be based in Houston where she will report to Cliff Caldwell, Chief Operating Office of Ascende, a division of EPIC.

Andrea Miller has joined Hub International Northeast Limited as an assistant vice president with the employee benefits division. In this role, Miller will develop new business opportunities focusing on mid to large-size groups in the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey markets. Miller has 17 years of experience in human capital management with three years of experience in employee benefits sales. Most recently, she served as vice president and senior employee benefits strategist with Corporate Synergies in Mount Laurel, NJ. She will work in Hub's Blue Bell, PA office.

Miller named vice president of Plexus Groupe's new division

Insurance broker and risk management consultancy The Plexus Groupe has hired David Miller as vice president, client executive for Plexus Private Client Solutions, the firm's new personal lines insurance practice. Prior to his new role, Miller was a managing director at Bensman Risk Management, where he oversaw the Illinois firm's high-net-worth practice.

Mercer adds Mullen in chief marketing role

Jeanniey Mullen has been appointed to global chief marketing officer for Mercer. Mullen joined Mercer in 2015 for the consultancy's digital marketing strategies in its Innovation Hub and most recently served in the firm's global business solutions team. Prior to Mercer, she oversaw marketing Barnes and Noble's Nook and led digital businesses at global agencies Ogilvy and GreyDirect.

Pusey to step down as president and CEO of the AIA

The American Insurance Association announced that president and CEO Leigh Ann Pusey will step down on June 15, 2017 after leading the organization since 2009. She is leaving to pursue another career opportunity. Since joining AIA 20 years ago, she has served in a variety of roles including chief operating officer and senior vice president for government affairs. Pusey will stay through a transition period and work with AIA senior vice president and general counsel J. Stephen "Stef" Zielezienski and senior vice president for state affairs Joe DiGiovanni.

The Standard has hired Ryan Racine as a retirement plan consultant for its Central Sales region. He will be based in The Standard's Tampa, Florida retirement plans sales and service office. Racine has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on retirement plans. Prior to joining The Standard, he was the regional sales manager for the southeast region at Aspire.

A new role for Staples inside Mercer

Mercer has appointed Paul Staples to the role of partner and defined contribution segment leader in the central market region. In this new role, Staples will oversee the growth of the company's DC business in Mercer's Central market territory. Based in St. Louis, Staples will report to Marc Cordover, Mercer's senior partner of wealth. Prior to joining Mercer, Staples served as a principal with Summit Strategies Group and worked for Independence Investments and SG Cowen Securities.
