"Each technology firm has its unique company culture that makes it successful,” says China Gorman, global CEO of Great Place to Work. “However, one common theme we saw across all of the companies that were surveyed is [the importance of] trust in the workplace.”

The California social commerce start up encourages an open-door policy and gathers employee feedback through Q&A sessions. Additionally, all full-time employees received stock options, and the company sets aside $500 each year to spend on personalized gifts for employees celebrating various milestones each year such as marriages and babies.

Intellinet, an Atlanta management and tech consulting firm, has an atmosphere where 100% of employees say enjoy their colleagues and find the workplace to be fun and cooperative. The employer uses an internal social network, Yammer, to allow employees to celebrate each other’s successes as well as keep the workplace light.

8. Innovative Architects

Innovative Architects provides software and process solutions to business problems. Based in Duluth, Ga., the employer entices its staff to help each other out and, in their Help a Brother Out Award program, each month the associate who has gone above and beyond to help someone out gets $100 for their efforts.

gainsight is said to be a company that exemplifies the “work hard, play hard” mentality. Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., the customer service software company blurs the lines between work and play. Nerf gun battles are known to break out, ping pong games are common and beer flows freely after hours.

6. OpenDNS

The San Francisco, internet security provider, is an employer with the full backing of its employees, having 100% positive response in employees saying they feel they carry an important responsibility within the organization. If that isn’t incentive enough to stay, on their 5th anniversary, employees get a 10-day, all-inclusive vacation anywhere in the world.

5. Tapestry Technologies

Tapestry Technologies, located in Chambersburg, Pa., focuses on cyber defense, engineering and integration, cyber training and IT support services. Tapestry offers full health coverage for both the employee and for dependents. In addition, the company contributes 3% of an employee’s salary to their 401(k), regardless of the employee’s contribution.

4. Convergence Consulting Group

Down in the Sunshine State, Tampa-based Convergence helps manage information for clients of various sizes: from Fortune 1000 to small, but fast growing organizations. 3. Square Root

The Austin, Texas-based provider of cloud-based software employer offers its employees up to 10% of their salary in bonuses each year. Half is based on employees meeting individual performance goals and the other half is based on the company achieving its goal. And each year, the Empowered Performer Award is given to the person who makes the biggest impact on the company and includes a double performance bonus and an additional "bonus unit" grant, which gives the employee a share of company sales.

Another Tampa, Fla.- based company, Agilethought is an IT company that builds and implements custom software and mobile applications for businesses. Employees are rewarded for going above and beyond to make a client happy, with gifts ranging from flights and Disney trips to gift cards for dining and weekend getaways.

1. Visionist

Visionist, located in Columbia, Md., provides engineering services in the defense industry. The employer know it’s hard to put a meal on the table in the first three hectic months of having a newborn, so it makes things easier by providing new parents with a large number of take-out meals. Additionally, the employer pays for 90% of health care premiums for employees and their dependents.
