Obama administration to suspend PPACA waivers

A few months ago, I compared the Obama administration to Oprah Winfrey when it seemed to be giving away waivers to escape annual benefit limits outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in the same gleeful and brazen manner that Oprah used to bestow gifts and cars on her studio audience.

Now that the Queen of Talk has ended her show, it seems the administration is following her lead yet again, announcing late last week that it will suspend the waivers in September.

The administration didn’t announce a reason for the suspension; perhaps because there was no one left to give waivers to?

Whatever the reason, if you still want a shot at getting a golden ticket, you have until Sept. 22 to apply.

Will your company/union apply for a waiver before the September deadline? Do you know of any organization that’s already received one? Will the hundreds already issued further weaken the legislation? Share your thoughts in the comments.
