Finger Lakes Fire & Casualty, a policyholder owned company represented by about 120 independent agents, will now offer LifeStages identity protection services through Identity Theft 911, a leading provider of identity management and data-breach services.
Finger Lakes President Stephen Hall noted that policyholders will be provided “an additional layer of ‘peace of mind’ protection not offered by many other insurance companies in standard personal lines policies.”
A news release announcing this partnership noted that ID theft increased 12% last year, claiming 11.1 million victims, according to the Javelin Identity Fraud Survey, and that it was the most commonly referred consumer complaint to the Federal Trade Commission during the past decade.
