States with the lowest cost of health insurance

In 2014, the average cost of health insurance per employee was $9,504 the average cost to employers was $6,276 and employees paid an average of $3,228, according to the 2014 United Benefit Advisors Health Plan Survey.

The top five states with the least expensive employer-sponsored health insurance costs were about $2,000 cheaper than the national average, according to the survey, which received responses from 9,950 employers sponsoring 16,967 health plans nationwide.
