Stop making work-life balance your holy grail. It’s an antiquated concept lacking in modern-day practicality. It assumes we can spend half our time working and then unplug and spend the other half our time “living.” No thank you. That’s not good enough for me, nor should it be for you or part of what you preach to the employee populations you serve.
I choose to “live” 100% of the time and that’s why I integrate my life into my work. Work-life integration, when imposed deliberately, functions both as an individual concept and model for building a thriving corporate culture.
