After more than three decades in HR, I’ve come to accept that not everything we’ve always done deserves to stick around. Big hair, perms, shoulder pads and fax machines at one point were everywhere. Then we moved on, for the most part.

In many ways, healthcare benefits still feel stuck in the past. We spent years focused on access to care. Now the real question is whether employees and their families can afford to use it.
