While news of big corporate layoffs and growing interest rates have left many workers nervous about their earning potential, it looks like the job market remains competitive — for some more than others.

Adzuna, a job search engine, examined 17.9 million U.S. jobs advertised on their site, comparing the salaries posted in November 2021 to those posted in December 2022. Certain roles are seeing substantial salary increases, hinting at the continued effort companies are making to recruit new talent.

"There is still hot competition for talent, and this is driving salary increases across the board," says Paul Lewis, chief customer officer at Adzuna. "However, it's important to factor in inflation too, which means that pay raises being offered are less in real terms than they look on paper."

Notably, among the top 10 jobs with the highest salary increases, only four roles paid in the six-figure range, while four other roles fell below $60,000 — the median household income was $78,813 in 2022, according to the Census Bureau.

Lewis underlines that jobs requiring more specialized knowledge that hire from smaller pools of qualified workers will see the most significant salary hikes. For example, loan officers went from an average salary of $68,157 in 2021 to $137,451 in 2022.

Here are 10 jobs with the highest salary increases in the last year, according to Adzuna.
