While many Americans are still out of work because of the pandemic, some college students are lucking out with internships that pay top dollar, even in the current unpredictable economy.
This summer, some interns could be earning over $8,000 per month, according to Glassdoor research on the highest paid internships. The majority of the companies paying interns huge sums are in the tech industry. Employers like NVIDIA, Facebook and LinkedIn pay their interns close to $96,000 per year.

“The past year presented unique challenges for college students and recent graduates trying to gain valuable internship experience, with many employers making the difficult decision to pause hiring or even cut internships,” Amanda Stansell, an economic data scientist with Glassdoor, said in a release. “Fortunately, the labor market is seeing signs of recovery, presenting opportunities for workers early in their careers to not only find internships at top companies but also earn a hefty paycheck.”
