Alex Bertin wants benefit managers to implement LSAs

Alex Bertin (00:06):

A trend that I'm super excited about and passionate about is, and I think one that will greatly give a competitive edge to those who do implement it, is lifestyle spending accounts. I think as we look at our workforce at any company, and particularly thinking about at Bamboo, our employee workforce crosses many generations. It crosses different lifestyles. It crosses age, gender, phase of life. And so trying to find benefits that work for each of these different populations is difficult, and that's where an LSA comes in and makes it so that employees can have a single benefits that can cover different things. So it gives them the flexibility to choose what is the most valuable to them, whether that's a gym membership or a fertility treatment or commuter expense that can be covered.

(01:08):

I think our philosophy regarding AI is one of trying to drive simplicity and trust with our employees without losing that human element. So today, on a day-to-day basis, we use Ask Bamboo hr, which is a product within the HR platform where employees can go for that front door for employee questions and Ask Bamboo HR gives answers based on HR data and our policies that is role based with permissions, and then gives clear citations of where that information came from.

(01:50):

All right. I think the best advice that I've gotten in my career is to stay curious. I think it's okay to not be the smartest person in the room. I think you need to ask questions to surround yourself with smart people and to not accept the first answer or solution that comes to a problem.
