Letter from the new editor-in-chief

Dear readers,

I am thrilled to begin my tenure as editor-in-chief of Employee Benefit News, and introduce myself to this illustrious community of HR executives and benefits directors.

My name is Danielle Lee and I come from an EBN sister publication at Arizent, Accounting Today, where I was most recently managing editor for 11 years but spent 15 years total with the brand, covering the many best practices, trends and changes to that profession over the last decade and a half.

While my previous roles included covering innovation and product developments in the space as technology editor, as well as managing the brand's "Accounting Tomorrow" hub for the next generation of accounting talent and leadership, there were unifying themes across my coverage over the years.

Most centrally, I reported and wrote about practice management in accounting, touching on the people aspect of what is sometimes viewed as a more technical and esoteric vertical. This included delving into the staffing issues that have more recently plagued the profession, the emerging game-changers of AI and outsourcing/offshoring talent, and the perennial topics of workforce management, recruitment/retention, and workplace culture, among many others.

I am so energized that coming to EBN gives me the chance to hone in on these human aspects of the workplace, and the universal challenges and opportunities across all businesses. I know that, much like the profession I previously covered, the HR and benefits space is navigating a rapidly changing landscape, and I am ready to dive into all those trends to keep providing the expertise and analysis that EBN is renowned for.

I am also excited to be leading such a great editorial team at EBN, as well as a roster of wonderful experts and contributors who will be tremendously helpful in my transition. On that note, please feel free to reach out and introduce yourself as I get more acquainted with this space, and I will be digging right in to learn more about (and from) the business professionals that make up our readership.
