I’m disappointed by the announcement, because out of all that I dislike about PPACA, the creation of exchanges was one aspect that I was excited about.
Personally, I love the idea of being able to shop for whatever kind of coverage I think is best for my family based on where we are in our lives, not where I work — to be able to pick our health plan, not just take whatever is presented to me by my employer.
Truly, I mean no offense; I know how hard you and your teams work to provide affordable yet meaningful coverage for employees. I’m also aware that not every worker has the means or inclination to go shopping around for health insurance.
But as for me, I love a good mall. And give me a mall of health insurance, and I’ll bargain shop ‘til I drop — Aetna v. Blue Cross or Abercrombie v. Benetton, same difference.
