Military personnel develop many skills that naturally fit in a workplace, including a strong work ethic, respect for authority, ability to adapt to change, teamwork, mission focus, punctuality and discipline. Yet, according to career site Monster, many HR professionals still don’t understand how military skills transition to the private sector.
Monster has compiled a list of companies that prioritize veterans, include employers that strategize veteran recruitment goals, have designed veteran outreach strategies, and employ a team dedicated exclusively to veteran hiring. To create the list, Monster interviewed a number of former military employment experts and evaluated companies on their veteran hiring stats, veteran retention rates and veteran recruitment plans. The following employers, presented in alphabetical order, topped the list.
