Real estate is a fast-paced, competitive industry, especially in a city like New York. Strong professional and community connections give the team at brokerage firm Coldwell Banker Warburg an extra edge. 

Creating a culture of support is top of mind for Kevelyn Guzman, the firm’s regional vice president. She notes that real estate agents are independent contractors, free to pick up and leave as they choose. But because the firm prioritizes people, its turnover rate is low, morale is high and out of those who do leave, some come back when they realize what they’re missing.
