New tech from Paycom lets employees manage their own payroll

Employees are already adept at managing their timecards, expenses, PTO requests and benefits. So why shouldn’t they manage their payroll, too?

Online payroll and human resource technology provider, Paycom, has announced the launch of Paycom Beti — Better Employee Transaction Interface — the first self-service payroll technology that allows employees to manage their own payroll from an app in order to improve data accuracy, oversight and user experience on each payroll cycle, according to the press release.

The new solution offers employees full insight into their paychecks before payroll is run, including a visual of deductions, expenses and allocations, according to Paycom. The function provides clarity on pay changes due to tax withholdings or promotions, and can alert employees when they need to take action to avoid errors or better understand take-home pay.

The goal of the new payroll feature is to reduce liability by ensuring information is correct prior to payout, increase visibility into the payroll process for employees’ peace of mind and improve data accuracy so there’s fewer deposit reversals, manual checks and general ledger voids, according to the release.

“It should have always been this way, but the tech didn’t exist,” Chad Richison, Paycom’s founder and CEO said in the release. “Today it does, and employers and employees will win with it.”
