Standard Insurance offers DI plan in 20 states

Standard Insurance Company, whose group product line includes disability, life, AD&D, dental and vision coverage, now offers the Protector Platinum individual disability income insurance plan in 20 states.

Key features include a provision that pays full benefits for the first six months if a claimant has a loss of time, duties or income, as well as disability benefits if there’s a loss of income while caring for a family member with a serious health condition.

Steve Brady, the carrier’s second vice president of individual disability income sales, noted that the plan’s built-in benefits “help make disability insurance easier to understand, teach, sell and own” in an uncertain economy that has made protecting income essential.
