A retraction and an apology

In the three years I’ve been writing this blog, I’ve never had to issue a retraction. I was proud of that — until today.

This week, the post “New partnership brings Subway to worksite lunch & learns” contained false information about the intentions of Clique, the supposed wellness vendor behind a program that sent a physician to worksites to provide free wellness information, and the involvement of Subway, which was purported to provide a free meal for the lunch & learn session.

In the days since I put up the post, readers have contacted me to let me know that not only is Subway not involved with this project, the initiative itself is being operated by a shady source.

Thus, I’ve removed the post and apologize to readers who sought out a wellness opportunity that appears to be a hoax. My special thanks to the readers whose strong rat-sniffing abilities helped bring this matter to my attention.

I’ve always worked hard to doublecheck my sources of information, but will re-double those efforts in light of this situation, and hope you’ll continue to return to the Daily Diversion in the future.
