For all the perception gaps between employers and employees on HR/benefits matters like retirement readiness and work-life balance, it’s nice to come across something that both sides can agree on — no matter how small.
So, it made me smile to see new survey results from OfficeTeam that show employees’ most coveted summer benefits — flexible schedules (41%) and leaving work early on Fridays (28%) — also are the ones that are most offered by employers (75% and 63%, respectively).
Hooray for small victories!
Among other warm-weather perks employees favor, 11% cite a company picnic and 5% say a more relaxed dress code — offered by 28% and 57% of employees, respectively.
I personally would prefer a company-sponsored trip to the Canary Islands, but I realize I’m aiming high on that one. Leaving early on Fridays would be a lovely consolation prize.
What summer perks does your company offer, if any? If you offer things like flextime or relaxed dress, have you run into any problems with employees abusing the benefits? Share your thoughts in the comments.
