The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption released its seventh annual
Topping the list again this year is the Wendy’s Company, which offers a combination of up to $25,300 in adoption assistance and up to six weeks of paid adoption leave.
The Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces list is determined by an analysis of a company’s adoption benefits, including the maximum amount of financial reimbursement and paid leave for families who adopt.
Rounding out America’s top 10 adoption-friendly workplaces are:
- Ferring Pharmaceuticals
- Citizens Financial Group, Inc./RBS America
- HanesBrands
- Barilla America, Inc.
- Liquidnet Holdings, Inc.
- LSI Corporation
- UBM
- Cambridge Family and Children’s Service
- Boston Scientific
When introduced to adoption benefits, “most [employers] are interested in it as an equity or family-friendly offering,” says Rita Sorenen, president and CEO of The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, adding that adoption benefits are an attractive addition to a work-life benefits package because they have very little effect on the bottom line and are easy to administer — utilization rates are low and paperwork is minimal.
