Benefits Think Author speaks to EBN about vision of ‘benefit-less world’

So, author Michael McIntyre caused a bit of a stir last week on the blog when I posted his press release that included comments about how he sees the corporate world as “exceedingly benefit-less” and that job seekers shouldn’t ask about benefits unless “you are applying for a C-level position with a Fortune 500 company.”

I spoke with McIntyre on Monday for EBN’s podcast series “Five Minutes With …” While he admitted that to distinguish themselves from competitors employers must “absolutely provide really strong benefits,” he also stuck to his guns regarding not asking about benefits, saying that, “if you’re trying to get a job in 2011, you’d better make it all about the employer.”
