When Allstate realized its workers weren’t feeling recognized or appreciated by their employer, the organization’s people and HR teams knew something needed to change. They set out to develop a new recognition and rewards program, and in the year since launch, have seen it capture the continued engagement of more than 80% of the Allstate workforce.

The program, dubbed Applause, launched in March of 2022, with the help of third-party rewards platform Achievers. Each Allstate employee receives a bank of points that they can distribute to their colleagues to celebrate a job well done. In the U.S., 500 points (the smallest amount that can be awarded) translates to $5. As employees collect rewards, they can cash them in at any time for a suite of offerings including gift cards, products or experiences.
