Estée Lauder Companies is expanding its paid parental leave policy to include 20 weeks of full pay, among other changes to its benefits package.
The enhanced policy, which previously only covered 12 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, six weeks of paid leave for primary caregivers and two weeks of paid leave for secondary caregivers, will be available to more than 11,000 U.S. employees after working for more than 90 days, according to Estée Lauder Co.
The New York City-based conglomerate, which owns brands such as Clinique, MAC Cosmetics and Origins, is also offering six weeks of back-to-work flexibility (in addition to six to eight weeks of short-term disability following childbirth); in-home back-up child, adult and elder care through Bright Horizons (in addition to an existing back-up child care at centers benefit); and an infant transition program. The company is also offering up to $10,000 of adoption assistance reimbursement. Eligible employees receive 15 back-up care visits per family member per year, according to the company.
“We recognize that all employees are different, their needs are different, their work-life balance is different, and we want to give our employees choices that allow them to pick the benefit that works best for them wherever they may be in life — whether they are starting or growing a family, taking care of a loved one or investing in their career growth and development,” says Latricia Parker, executive director of global benefits of the Estée Lauder Companies.
The updated policy goes into effect May 1.
In January, the skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care marketer announced a new student loan payment contribution benefit that gives employees $100 a month toward their debt, capped at $10,000, as part of a greater strategy shift for retaining and attracting younger employees.
The beauty company also offers $20,000 a year for infertility benefits, a tuition reimbursement benefit and digital learning initiatives.
