It’s been five years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and while remote work existed before, the pandemic made this arrangement much more prevalent.
Fullstack Academy recently ranked the U.S. cities with the highest and lowest percentage of remote workers, by analyzing the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2023 American Community Survey, which was published in September 2024, focusing on the question “How did you usually get to work last week?” From there, they determined a percentage of remote workers by using the number of respondents who answered “worked from home” against the number of employed people in the city.
