The Health Savings Account (HSA) is arguably a staple of American benefits. More than 31 million accounts are open in the U.S., and HSAs are widely considered an important way to build health savings and plan for retirement1.But when it comes to administering an HSA program, not everything is about enrollment.

To get value from employer-sponsored HSAs, people need to be actively involved in contributing, investing, or using their funds. And that only happens in HSA programs that are able to engage their members. Of course, reaching busy professionals is difficult. To really make an impact, benefits leaders need to think beyond employee education and consider new ways to engage their people systematically. When your people are engaged, they're more likely to not only adopt HSAs but fully utilize their benefits.

In this paper, we'll explore four paths to step up engagement and achieve HSA success for your people.

  • Pathway 1 – Drive adoption
  • Pathway 2 – Keep in touch all year long
  • Pathway 3 – Drill down on results
  • Pathway 4 – Develop targeted improvement plans
