Increased polarization and norm-shattering events like the felony conviction of Donald Trump make the 2024 elections the most challenging U.S. political environment for companies at any point in recent memory, according to a new report.
Fifty-nine percent of corporate executives say conditions are worse now than in the 2020 election season, a period marked by the economic damage caused by the global pandemic and major upheavals over race relations, according to the poll by the Conference Board, a nonpartisan think tank, and law firm Steptoe. They surveyed lobbyists and legal officers at 96 major multinational corporations.
