Employees want to work from home so badly, they're willing to quit their job and start anew in order to do it. As more and more companies evolve to fit those demands, some professions are embracing flexible work more than others.

According to a recent study conducted by career insights platform FlexJobs, 65% of employees called fully remote work their ideal arrangement. In an effort to help applicants find job opportunities that fit those desires, FlexJobs compiled and released a list of the seven fastest-growing career fields for fully remote work in 2023.

"While a cooling job market may be concerning to job seekers, remote career prospects — particularly in certain industries — is strong," Toni Frana, career services manager at FlexJobs, said in a press release.

To curate their list, FlexJobs compared the number of fully remote jobs posted to their platform from across 50 career categories throughout 2022.  Remote openings in each of the categories on the list increased at least 20% during that 12-month period.

"As our latest list of growing remote careers demonstrates, the range of remote work continues to span various industries, career levels and roles, creating many opportunities for workers," Frana said. "We anticipate this trend to continue well into the future as more employers embrace permanent remote workplaces."

Nonprofit and philanthropy-focused jobs snagged the top spot, followed by analyst and legal positions. See what other career categories made FlexJobs' list:
