Physicians weigh in on social media, patient care

The American Medical Association has adopted a new policy that gives guidance to physicians using social media.

Web-based social networks and blogs enable physicians to collaborate with each other and strengthen professional relationships. However, the technology also creates new challenges to the patient-physician relationship, according to the association.
