i-COMM Award nominations are open

As someone who has, at times, been reluctant to embrace the digital age, I’m always in awe of companies that do a bang-up job communicating benefits to employees through multimedia channels. It’s not easy, and those who do it well deserve to be recognized. It’s one of the reasons we pay tribute to the best of internal communication of benefits every year with the i-COMM Awards.

So, if you’d like to see your internal communications campaign recognized, consider nominating it for a 2013 i-COMM Award.

We honor communication initiatives that advance the objectives of the benefits/HR department and the strategic goals of an organization, including but not limited to, increasing employees’ benefit participation, helping employees derive greater value from benefits, improving employee satisfaction and/or achieving cost savings.

Submissions will be based on active websites, emails, intranet pages, print and other communication vehicles. The i-COMM Awards are open to all companies that have an HR/benefits department and/or employee communications division.

The i-COMMs are awarded in four categories:

  • Best Overall Communications Campaign
  • Best Use of Social Media
  • Best Intranet/Employee Portal Design & Usability
  • Best Print or Online Employee Newslette

A panel of EBN editors, former i-COMM winners and other industry leaders will evaluate nominees. Judging criteria include recent achievements involving innovative multiyear projects, professional recognition and depth of experience. Nominations for the i-COMM Awards must be submitted online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/ICOMM13 by Friday, June 28 at 5 p.m. ET.

While there is space for indepth descriptions of nominees’ achievements, submitted material need not be limited to the nomination form. Supporting information — documentation of achievements, or letters of support or endorsement from other colleagues/business contacts — is encouraged, and may be submitted to me via email at  andrea.davis@sourcemedia.com or by snail mail to: David Albertson, Editorial Director, Employee Benefit News, c/o SourceMedia Inc., 4401 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 910, Arlington, VA 22203.

All winners will be profiled in the September 1 issue of EBN, and announced at the 26th Annual Benefits Forum & Expo in New Orleans.

Good luck!
