Aschentrop joins Lockton as vice president in Kansas City

Lockton Companies has named Robert Aschentrop vice president in its Kansas City, Mo. office. Aschentrop will use his risk management and employee benefit experience to help with Lockton’s growth. Aschentrop has more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on financial analysis, auditing and budgeting. Before joining Lockton, Aschentrop served as a Consultant for CBIZ and he was a senior banker for UHL and vice president for US Bank

Davis joins T. Rowe Price

Michael Davis has joined T. Rowe Price as its head of defined contribution plan specialists for T. Rowe Price’s institutional business. In this newly created positions in its institutional Defined Contribution Investment Only (DCIO) business, he will lead the team responsible for expanding the firm’s reach and strategic engagement capabilities in the U.S. institutional DCIO marketplace. Before this appointment, Davis served as director of institutional client relations at Calvert Investments.

Haley earns dual role in CBIZ

CBIZ Employee Services Organization has hired Jennifer Haley in a dual leadership role. Haley will take on the role of market leader for CBIZ ESO of Northern California, as well as director of international benefits for CBIZ ESO offices throughout the country. She will oversee the benefits sales team in business development for Northern California. She’ll be based in San Jose.

Latham lands at T. Rowe Price

T. Rowe Price has hired Lorie Latham as its senior defined contribution strategist. In this newly created role, she will consult with key institutional relationships on a range of strategy and policy matters and serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader on large-market defined contribution issues. Before joining T. Rowe Price, Latham served at Towers Watson Investment Services (TWIS) in Chicago and was a vice president with Ibbotson Associates.

Aflac’s Lebish departs brokerage

Dan Lebish is no longer EVP & COO for Aflac’s Group division in Columbia, SC. News of his departure came to light in early August and there has been no official announcement from the insurance giant.

Martin joins Benefit Communications Inc.

Benefit Communications Inc. has hired Yina Martin as its newest national client manager. In this role, she will be responsible for implementing strategies to improve project operations and maximize client service. Martin joins BCI after spending more than 18 years in the group insurance business, working on both the carrier and brokerage industry arena.

The Plexus Groupe names McKenna CFO

The Plexus Groupe has hired Matthew McKenna as Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, McKenna will set the firm’s financial policy and direction and lead its financial administration, business planning and budgeting. McKenna was most recently the CFO at Chicago-based OmniVere, an integrated discovery management and consulting firm. Previously, he was senior director, corporate restructuring at consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal.

Aflac promotes Miller as CAO

Virgil Miller is now serving insides Aflac’s Group Operations divisions and his title is senior vice president, chief administrative officer. He has replaced former EVP and COO Dan Lebish who left his position this summer.

Pittman Joins Benefit Communications

Benefit Communications Inc. announced the addition of Michael Pittman. He will serve as the National Client Manager where he will be responsible for implementing strategies to improve project operations and maximize client service. Pittman joins BCI after spending more than 10 years with Unum US where he was an enrollment manager and client manager.

Rutter named regional vice president of John Hancock

John Hancock Retirement Plan Services has named Bridgette Rutter to the role of regional vice president. She will be responsible for sales and relationship development with financial representatives and plan consultants in the Chicago region, focusing on the under-$20 million market segment. She replaces Jeffrey Kettwig, who has been appointed a national vice president of sales, focused on small- to mid-sized NAV, open-architecture plans.

Schechter appointed executive vice president of Liberty Mutual Benefits

Rebecca Schechter has been named president, Commercial Insurance and president for Liberty Mutual Benefits. Her role will include overseeing the suite of employee benefits products and services, including disability, life, voluntary and absence management. She joined Liberty Mutual Benefits in July, 2015 as senior vice president and general manager, Liberty Mutual Benefits Distribution.

OneAmerica promotes Sarratt

Karin Sarratt will join OneAmerica as its new senior vice president and chief human resources officer. She previously served as vice president, human resources at Anthem. In her new role, Sarratt will serve as a member of the OneAmerica leadership team and be responsible for all aspects of the OneAmerica human resources functions, with an early focus on culture-building, talent management and development strategies. Before joining Anthem, she worked for International Paper Company for more than 14 years, serving in her last role there as director of human resources in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
