For various reasons, ranging from politics to personal health concerns, it appears that some Americans are adopting healthier eating habits. Even Newsweek admits America’s obesity epidemic is finally easing, but it mostly credits a surge in GLP-1s. While these drugs may provide a temporary fix, healthier eating is the only change that will have a lasting effect that doesn’t break the bank for group health plans.
It’s our responsibility as benefit advisers to encourage employer clients to build this approach into their health benefit design. But we can also heed this advice for ourselves, our families and health insurance brokerage or advisory associates. So, why not practice what we preach, feel better and live healthier?
