Job seekers may no longer have the same job market advantage that was defined by the Great Resignation, but that doesn't mean they aren't being selective.

Job search site Adzuna analyzed over 5,000 job ads to see just how many clicks they get from job seekers. Unsurprisingly, jobs with low pay, lack of flexibility and little opportunity for career advancement got the least engagement. For example, restaurant hosts made it to the top three, with just 1.12 clicks per job ad and an average salary of $28,000 a year. This wasn't the only frontline job to make the list — in fact, every job in the top 15 arguably falls under this category, highlighting how many employers are still failing to attract and retain this workforce four years after the start of the pandemic.

"Despite the crucial nature of these jobs, some businesses may prioritize [financial] caution, especially in times of economic uncertainty, such as during an election year," says James Neave, head of data science at Adzuna. "However, there are notable exceptions, with companies like Whole Foods finding success by offering career progression frameworks to attract and retain talent in the retail sector."

Neave advises employers to invest in their existing frontline talent, noting that continued high turnover rates will only hurt their bottom line and customer experience. While competitive compensation plays a huge role in keeping employees, PTO, affordable healthcare, upskilling opportunities and other table-stake benefits of the corporate world can go a long way.

Here are the 15 most unpopular jobs, according to Adzuna.
