How do you solve a problem like DOMA?

Other than reconciling it to your religious, political and/or social views, I never considered that the legal definition of marriage would make much of a difference in your professional life in benefits.

Far from the first time, I’m wrong again.

Rather, the federal definition of marriage — as laid out in the Defense of Marriage Act — and the consequences of the law being challenged in court, potentially can affect how you do your job.
