
Are 401(k) plans a failed experiment?
The 401(k) plan is certainly under attack, Brian Graff, executive director and CEO of ASPPA, told attendees. He made his remarks as moderator of a panel discussion that addressed whether 401(k) plans are failed experiment. And while no one agreed the 40(k) system is a failure, there were differing views on how successful its been.

401(k) leadership award
The fiduciary consulting group at PSA from Hunt Valley, Md. received the 2013 401(k) Advisor Leadership Award. Jania Stout, retirement plans practice leader at PSA, received the award on behalf of the team. The award recognizes a leading financial adviser or team for contributions that exemplify leadership, experience and expertise in the retirement plan industry. The other finalists were Mike Kane, founder and managing director, Plan Sponsor Consultants in Alpharetta, Ga. and Chad Larsen, president, Moreton Retirement Partners in Denver, Co.
