Their respective names are synonymous with reaching new heights, which is exactly what Ascension Insurance, Inc. hopes to do in the employee benefits marketplace following its recent acquisition of Summit America Insurance.
The two firms share a philosophy about the power of "combining specialized resources with a consultative approach," according to Leonard P. Kline, Jr., president and CEO of Ascension, one of the nation’s 30 largest agencies by revenue size with 32 offices across the U.S.
Ascension seeks to build a national network of employee benefits firms with specialized market expertise, as well as expand its expertise within the higher-education space. Summit America specializes in benefits solutions, insurance and risk-management services for the educational, recreational and sports markets.
In related news, the Portal Insurance Agency, Inc. recently changed its name to Ascension Benefits & Insurance Solutions after operating under that corporate umbrella for the past 15 months. The rebranding effort is designed to deliver greater access to strategic employee benefits consulting to businesses, nonprofits, municipalities and colleges and universities.
