Zynga work leader named Benefits Professional of the Year

Zynga’s director of benefits Bryan Aycock has been named Employee Benefit News’ 2020 Benefits Professional of the Year for his work during the COVID-19 healthcare and financial crisis.

Aycock is one of four recipients of Employee Benefit News’ annual Benny Awards, which recognize individuals for excellence in the employee benefits and human resources field. He jumped into action at the start of the pandemic to support the needs of his global employee population, launching mental health resources, child care support, and health and wellness initiatives.

“I just wanted people to know that we were here to support them and that we were doing everything we could to support them as soon as possible,” Aycock says. “One question I always ask at the end of each meeting is what's missing from the benefits program for you and your family. That really helps me tailor our benefits.”

The other winners are:

  • Benefits Leadership in Healthcare: David Hines, executive director of benefits for the Nashville Public Schools
  • Benefits Leadership in Retirement: Talika Johnson, director of administrative services for the city of Azusa
  • Editor’s Pick: Tim O'Neil, executive director of employee experience, benefits and wellness at Meredith

EBN’s Benny Award winners will be profiled online and in the magazine’s November issue.
