There is nothing consumers love more than saving money with a product bundle, and a new benefit integration from Aon can help employers do just that, while helping employees find relief for one of life’s most painful and disruptive health conditions.

Professional services firm Aon has teamed up with three healthcare companies, Employer Direct Healthcare, Hinge Health and 98point6, to launch MSK Integrated Care Solution. The benefit will address and improve the quality and affordability of employees’ musculoskeletal care.

The platform gives employees access to in-demand benefits from all three companies: Employer Direct Healthcare’s SurgeryPlus concierge services and surgical network; Hinge Health's wearable technology and clinical care team; and 24/7 access to 98point6’s virtual, primary care physicians.

“Musculoskeletal ailments are among the largest cost drivers for employer health plans,” Michael Murphy, senior vice president of health innovation for Aon, said in a release. “With more employees working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, these trends are being exacerbated, providing an opportunity to help more people access high-quality, affordable musculoskeletal care.”

Musculoskeletal issues impact an estimated 126.6 million Americans and cost around $213 billion in annual treatment, care and lost wages, according to research from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Musculoskeletal issues are characterized by persistent pain and limitations in mobility, dexterity and overall level of functioning in the joints, muscles, spine and bones, reducing people’s ability to work, according to the World Health Organization.

Employees can access treatment and resources via mobile app, desktop platform or through in-person care. The bundled solution makes treatment more convenient and accessible, a critical factor for employees dealing with an often debilitating disease.
